MP Assures Support for UFTB Permanent Campus Development in Gazipur
Gazipur-1 constituency Member of Parliament Md. Mujibur Rahman has assured full cooperation for the construction of the permanent campus infrastructure of the University of Frontier Technology, Bangladesh (UFTB) in the shortest possible time.
He gave this assurance as the chief guest while speaking at a discussion meeting organized by UFTB on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh 1433 Bangabda on Tuesday, 14 April.
The Member of Parliament said, “I will always remain committed to the overall development of this university and its students. Whatever is necessary to build a modern and quality campus, cooperation in its implementation will continue.”
The event was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf. Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain was present as a special guest.
The day-long colorful program marking the celebration of Pahela Baishakh began at 7:00 am with a discussion meeting. Later, a Baishakhi procession was held at 7:30 am. Teachers, students, and officers and employees of the university spontaneously participated in the procession.
Subsequently, the New Year was welcomed through a vibrant cultural program. Through Chaitra Sankranti, Bangabda 1432 was bid farewell, and the Bengali people’s beloved festival Pahela Baishakh was celebrated in a festive atmosphere.
In his presidential speech, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf sought the chief guest’s overall cooperation in the construction of the university infrastructure. He further said, "Pahela Baishakh is our beloved festival. It is not only the beginning of a new year, but also a bright reflection of thousands of years of tradition, culture, and national identity. The main objective of this festival is to increase harmony among people and to build an environment of unity and empathy in society."
He also thanked all members of the New Year celebration committee for organizing the event in a beautiful and orderly manner.
Alongside members of the university family, political and distinguished personalities of Gazipur were present at the event. The UFTB family welcomed the New Year in a joyful and festive atmosphere through this day-long program.
