Bangladesh is set to participate for the first time in the ‘Esports Nations Cup’, widely regarded as the Esports World Cup, scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia this November. The tournament features a total prize pool of over BDT 220 crore.

The participation was confirmed by Dr. Brigadier General (Retd.) Md. Munirul Islam, President of the Bangladesh Youth Development and Electronic Sports Association, at a press conference held at Hotel Asia and Resorts.

He stated that Bangladesh will compete in 15 different esports events, making it one of the largest country-based esports tournaments globally.

According to officials, around 150 countries will take part in this year’s edition. Bangladesh will be represented by 50 gamers across 15 events, selected through multiple trial rounds from approximately 1,500 registered participants.

Team manager Aga Rafsan said Bangladesh will first compete against other Asian nations in the qualifiers. Securing a position within the top 2–3 on the leaderboard will be necessary to advance to the main stage.

Team coaches Farhan Islam, Md. Abid Hossain, and Nazmus Sakib noted that players were selected through a transparent process and preparations are in full swing. Alongside gameplay strategies, the team is also receiving training to adapt to international competitive environments.

Bangladesh aims to progress beyond the qualifiers and showcase its growing esports potential on the global stage.
