JUST Inter-Hall Basketball Tournament 2026 Kicks Off

The Inter-Hall Basketball Tournament 2026 has commenced with great enthusiasm at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST). The tournament has been organized by the Department of Physical Education of JUST. Treasurer Professor Dr. Hossain Al Mamun attended the inaugural ceremony as a special guest.

The tournament was officially inaugurated on Monday, 6 April at 3:30 PM at the university’s basketball court. The grand and vibrant opening ceremony was inaugurated by Treasurer Professor Dr. Hossain Al Mamun. Students from three residential halls—Shaheed Moshiur Rahman Hall, Munshi Meherullah Hall, and Kabi Golam Mostofa Hall—are participating in the competition. The final match will be held tomorrow.

While speaking as the special guest at the inaugural ceremony, Treasurer Professor Dr. Hossain Al Mamun said that JUST is the only self-reputed university in Bangladesh that excels equally in both research and sports. He expressed hope that JUST, which is progressing consistently in research, will continue its success in sports as well.

The ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Shahedur Rahman, Director of the Department of Physical Education. Other speakers included Dr. Md. Hamidur Rahman, Convener of the Inter-Hall Basketball Tournament 2026 Organizing Committee, and Md. Abdullah-Hel Kafi, Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Education.

Also present at the event were Dr. Md. Abdur Rauf Sarkar, Provost of Munshi Meherullah Hall; Abdul Wahed, Assistant Director of the Department of Physical Education; Physical Instructors Md. Shahinur Rahman and Md. Jahangir Alam; along with teachers, students, officials, and staff from various departments of the university. The inaugural ceremony was conducted by Md. Raihan Rakib, Physical Instructor of the Department of Physical Education.
