Cyber Recovery Drive: Rangpur Police Return 26 Lost Mobile Phones Using IT Tools

Rangpur District Police have recovered 26 mobile phones lost at different times using information technology and returned them to their rightful owners.

The matter was confirmed on Monday morning, 6 April, by Rangpur District Police Superintendent Md. Marufat Hossain.

Earlier, on Sunday, 5 April, the recovered devices were handed over to their owners at the police conference room.

According to district police sources, following general diary (GD) entries filed by mobile phone owners over lost devices, Rangpur District Police, with the assistance of information technology, recovered 26 mobile phone sets from various parts of the country. The Cyber Crime and Media Unit of Rangpur District Police played a key role in this effort. The recovered phones are estimated to be worth approximately Tk 500,000. After verifying documents, the phones were returned to their rightful owners.

Meanwhile, the recipients expressed joy upon recovering their lost mobile phones within a short time. They extended sincere thanks and gratitude to Rangpur District Police and Bangladesh Police.

Police Superintendent Md. Marufat Hossain said they are pleased to return the lost mobile phones to their rightful owners and assured that such initiatives will continue.
