Fuel Fraud Fight: Government Offers Tk 100,000 Reward for Informants
The Energy and Mineral Resources Division of the government has announced a reward of up to Tk 100,000 for individuals who assist the local administration by providing accurate information about illegal stockpiling and smuggling of fuel oil.
In an information statement issued on Monday, 30 March, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting confirmed the matter.
Earlier, on 27 March, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said in a statement that vigilance teams have been formed in all districts of the country to monitor fuel supply.
It was also stated that rewards would be announced for informants to curb illegal hoarding.
Additionally, conscious citizens have been requested to submit specific complaints and suggestions.
At the same time, considering the global situation, the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation has urged consumers not to purchase fuel beyond their needs, but to maintain normal purchasing practices and ensure economical use.
