Since the early days of internet usage in Bangladesh, mobile internet has dominated the landscape. However, for services such as telemedicine, e-education, surveillance, and home security systems, there is no alternative to reliable and stable fixed broadband connectivity. To highlight this importance, the country is set to host its first-ever ‘Broadband Expo-2026’.

The three-day exhibition will be held from April 2 to 4 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital, according to the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB).

Sources at the ISPAB secretariat said the first day of the program will feature the inauguration ceremony, the second day will include two seminars, and the final day will conclude with the closing ceremony.

Business leaders, technology suppliers, and experts from the sector will participate in the seminars. Discussions will focus on the future of the fixed broadband industry, policy challenges, infrastructure development, and the use of new technologies. Organizers expect the expo to serve as an effective knowledge-sharing platform for all stakeholders in the industry.

The expo will showcase IoT devices, network security solutions, smart home technologies, and various innovative broadband-based services. Overall, stakeholders believe that ‘Broadband Expo-2026’ will play a significant role in ensuring digital inclusion and establishing the fixed broadband industry on a strong foundation.
