Seminar on Conversational AI and Chatbots Held at JUST

A seminar titled “Conversational AI and Chatbots: Building Smart Assistants” was held at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST), focusing on artificial intelligence-based dialogue systems and the development of smart assistants.

The event, held Monday morning at the university’s central gallery, was jointly organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and the Improving Computer and Software Engineering Tertiary Education Project (ICSETEP).

The Vice-Chancellor of JUST, Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid, attended the seminar as the chief guest. In his speech, he said, “This seminar is a great opportunity for our students. I believe ICSETEP will open a new horizon for JUST. Under this project, our CSE students will not only receive monthly scholarships but will also be able to grow as entrepreneurs. I believe our students will contribute to AI research with new dimensions and will become self-reliant and enterprising individuals. I hope you will not only develop yourselves but also work for the betterment of this nation.”

The seminar featured Md. Fattahul Alam, Chief Technology Officer at Nassania Limited, and software engineer S.M. Nahid Hasan as resource persons. They elaborated on global trends in conversational AI and chatbot technologies and discussed pathways for student career development in the field.

The session was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Alam Hossain, head of ICSETEP and faculty member of the CSE department. Special remarks were delivered by Professor Dr. Hossain Al Mamun, Treasurer of JUST. Among other attendees were Dr. Md. Amzad Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology; Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammad Naushin Ahmed Sheikh; and faculty and students of the CSE department.

The seminar was conducted by Assistant Professor Dr. Md. Nasim Adnan of the CSE department.
