Fakhrul Launches Website for Thakurgaon-1 Residents
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been elected as a Member of Parliament from Thakurgaon-1 in the 13th National Parliamentary Election. To receive complaints or learn about any problems faced by residents of his constituency, he has launched a website titled alamgirfortomorrow.com.
On Thursday morning, February 19, Mirza Fakhrul shared the information through a post on his verified Facebook page.
In the post, he wrote, “From any area of Thakurgaon-1, please inform me directly through my website about any incidents of extortion, land grabbing, injustice, crime, or any other problems.”
He further stated, “Since the website was inaugurated on January 7, we have already received many messages. My team is compiling them, and we will respond soon.”
The 13th National Parliamentary Election was held on February 12 in 299 constituencies. With two seats suspended, the Election Commission announced results for 297 seats. Among them, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party secured 209 seats. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami won 68 seats, the National Citizen Party (NCP) obtained 6 seats, and Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis secured 2 seats.
By winning more than two-thirds of the seats, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party formed the government. Members of Parliament took oath on Tuesday morning. Later in the afternoon, the Prime Minister along with 25 full ministers and 24 state ministers were sworn in. Among them, Mirza Fakhrul, the BNP Secretary General, was assigned the portfolio of Local Government Minister.
