Grid Governance Gets New Guard: Zillur Rahman Elected President
Engineer Md. Zillur Rahman has been elected President and Engineer Md. Robiul Islam has been elected General Secretary of the Power Grid Diploma Engineers Association, the national organization representing diploma engineers working at Power Grid Bangladesh PLC, the state-owned entity responsible for managing the countrywide electricity transmission grid.
They were elected through direct votes of members in the central executive committee election held simultaneously across all 64 districts of the country on Sunday, February 15.

Engineer Ahmed Asif Akhtar Monju has been elected Organizing Secretary, with Engineer Md. Russell Rana and Engineer Md. Abdul Jabbar serving as Assistant Organizing Secretaries.
Engineer Md. Anwar Hossain has been elected Finance Secretary, while Engineer Md. Ataur Rahman will serve as Office Secretary and Engineer Ishaq Hossain Talukder Shuvo as Assistant Office Secretary.
Engineer Md. Helal Morshed Sohag has been elected Publicity Secretary, with Engineer Mohammad Rashedul Islam Russell as Assistant Publicity Secretary.
Engineer Md. Anwar Hossain Sujan has been elected Social Welfare Secretary, Engineer Md. Bellal Hossain Sarkar as Service Affairs Secretary, and Engineer Mohammad Akidul Islam as Legal Affairs Secretary.
Engineer Abdullah Al Naim has been elected Education, Literature and Cultural Secretary, with Engineer Md. Harun Or Rashid serving as Assistant in the same portfolio.
Engineer Shahnaz Akter has been elected Women’s Affairs Secretary, with Engineer Rita Pal as Assistant Women’s Affairs Secretary.
Engineer Mohammad Nasir Uddin will serve as Information and Research Secretary, supported by Engineer Md. Gias Uddin Mia as Assistant.
Engineer Md. Saifur Rahman Nahid has been elected Science and Technology Secretary.
Election Commission and Oversight
Assistant Engineer Md. Humayun Kabir served as Chief Election Commissioner. Assistant Engineer GM Aminul Islam and Sub-Assistant Engineer Imran Hossain performed duties as Assistant Election Commissioners.
The nationwide election was conducted in a peaceful, festive, and fully participatory environment. The election arrangements and overall supervision were carried out by the interim central executive committee of the Power Grid Diploma Engineers Association, led by Convener Engineer Md. Saiful Islam and Member Secretary Engineer Lovelu Fakir.
