A virtual citizen engagement platform has been launched to enforce a zero-tolerance policy against extortion, corruption, drugs, terrorism, and illegal occupation. Named Chandabaaj, the platform invites citizens to lodge complaints directly, according to Nasiruddin Patwari, Chief Coordinator of the National Citizen Party (NCP) and the 11-party alliance-nominated candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency.

He made the call while unveiling his eight-point manifesto on Friday, February 6, around 3:00 pm in front of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) office in Segunbagicha, Dhaka.

Addressing the gathering, Nasiruddin Patwari said that complaints can be submitted through chandabaaj.com with complete confidentiality, and assured that every allegation would be investigated promptly and acted upon accordingly. He pledged to strengthen CCTV surveillance in crime-prone and high-traffic areas, enforce a zero-tolerance policy across public transport and public spaces, and take strict action against violence, sexual harassment, eve-teasing, and abuse targeting women and children. A 24/7 helpline will also be introduced, he added.

To ensure modern education, Patwari announced plans to establish advanced computer labs in every educational institution, alongside introducing artificial intelligence (AI) and technology-based training programs.

He further outlined a long-term plan to establish a modern skill development center in Paltan, which will feature an e-library, a cultural center, high-speed internet-enabled co-working spaces for entrepreneurs, and a seminar hall.

The eight-point manifesto also includes commitments to rehabilitate, train, and ensure employment for those injured during the July mass uprising in the Dhaka-08 area. Special initiatives will be undertaken to enhance skills and provide support for job seekers, entrepreneurs, and apprentices.

Additionally, the manifesto promises training and assistance in freelancing, digital skills, and online marketplace-based work to create opportunities in both domestic and international markets. Special programs will also be introduced to empower women entrepreneurs through training, mentoring, and improved access to markets for selling their products.
