Despite concerns over a global RAM shortage and the possibility of rising prices, a positive picture has emerged at the ongoing Digital Device & Innovation Expo at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC) in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka. From the opening day of the expo through Friday afternoon, January 30—the third day of the event—a satisfactory turnout of buyers and visitors has been observed.

A visit to various stalls and pavilions shows that new laptop models, special discounts, gifts, and cashback offers are drawing the attention of tech enthusiasts. On Friday, a weekly holiday, buyers began arriving in large numbers from the morning. Alongside laptops, mobile phone stalls also witnessed a steady flow of visitors.

Saima Parvin, who came to the expo from Dhanmondi to explore technology products, said she regularly visits gadget exhibitions to check out the latest laptops, tablets, mobile phones, and other essential devices. A university student, she noted that her interest in technology motivated her to attend the expo. “I’m looking at all kinds of gadgets, including laptops. If I find one I like, I plan to buy it,” she said.

Nahidul Islam traveled from Banani with the intention of purchasing a laptop. He said he is roaming around the expo in search of his preferred brand and model. “If I find the Asus or Dell model I like at a suitable price, I will buy a laptop today,” he added. Like Saima and Nahidul, many college and university students have come to the expo—some just to browse, others with a clear intention to purchase. Their common goal is to take advantage of the special discounts and offers available on laptops from various brands during the exhibition.

At the four-day expo, Asus is offering shopping vouchers worth up to BDT 5,000 with laptop purchases. Lenovo buyers can enjoy cashback ranging from BDT 1,000 to BDT 5,000, along with a chance to win an e-motorbike.

As a silver sponsor of the expo, Acer has brought a wide range of laptop models with special discounts. UCC is offering discounts of up to BDT 50,000 on Acer’s Predator series. Additionally, Aspire and TravelMate series laptops with Core i3 and Core i5 processors are available with discounts ranging from BDT 3,000 to BDT 6,000.

Techland is offering discounts of up to BDT 5,000 on various laptop models, along with similar discounts on RAM. Ryans is providing gift vouchers worth BDT 500 to BDT 2,000 on Asus and HP laptops, and cashback of BDT 1,000 to BDT 5,000 on Lenovo laptops.

Meanwhile, Smart is offering cashback of up to BDT 2,000 on laptops from its own brand.
