Jovan–Tatini Reunite in YouTube Film ‘Shomporker Golpo’

After winning viewers’ hearts last Eid-ul-Fitr with the YouTube film Tomader Golpo, actor Farhan Ahmed Jovan and actress Tanzim Saiyara Tatini are returning with a new project titled Shomporker Golpo. Directed once again by Muhammad Mostafa Kamal Raj, the previous film amassed nearly 35 million views within eight months of its release.

Shomporker Golpo is set to premiere on the Cinemawala YouTube channel in the second week of January.

Most of the cast members from Tomader Golpo will reprise their roles in the new film. The returning ensemble includes Dilara Zaman, Saberi Alam, Monira Akhtar Mithu, Shilpi Sarkar Apu, Nader Chowdhury, Mahmudul Islam Mithu, and MNU Raju. New additions to the cast are Deepa Khandakar, Sohel Khan, and Israat.

Director Muhammad Mostafa Kamal Raj has been working on the Golpo series for about a year. Following Tomader Golpo, each episode of his series Eta Amaderi Golpo has gained strong audience appreciation. With Shomporker Golpo, he now aims to present another relatable story to viewers. The film’s tagline is “Je Bondhon Haray Na” (A bond that never fades).

Speaking about the new YouTube film, Raj said, “Almost the same unit that worked on Tomader Golpo has come together again for Shomporker Golpo. From actors to the writer and cinematographer, most of us have reunited. We hope that viewers will find reflections of themselves in this work as well.”

The screenplay of the film has been written by Siddiq Ahmed, who also penned Tomader Golpo. He was previously praised for writing the screenplay of Raj’s film Omar.

Shomporker Golpo will feature a new song composed and sung by Arfin Rumi, with Kheya joining him in a duet. The lyrics have been written by Tariq Tuhin.
