Samsung has announced that its smart TVs will feature a dedicated version of Google Photos in 2026, ending the long-standing reliance on casting or sideloading for enjoying photos and videos on the big screen, reports TechCrunch.

Initially, the Memories feature will allow users to view selected photos and videos, exclusively on Samsung TVs for six months. Users will need to sign in with their Google accounts to access this functionality.

Samsung also revealed plans to introduce AI-powered features in the future, including Nano Banana templates, photo creation and editing, and remix options.

Google Photos Vice President Shimrit Ben-Yair said the initiative aims to offer a new way to experience memories on the big screen. The integration will make it easier for families and friends to share personal moments via TV, enhancing the overall Samsung smart TV experience.

Analysts note that the move could establish TVs as a central hub for digital memories at home, significantly boosting user engagement.
