Global Gathering: Over 1,000 Expatriates Attend NRB Global Convention 2025 in Dhaka
More than 1,000 expatriates from nearly 25 countries participated in the NRB Global Convention 2025, held at the Sheraton Hotel ballroom in Banani, Dhaka. Attendees included doctors, engineers, scientists, university professors, IT professionals, as well as entrepreneurs and business leaders.
The convention was officially inaugurated on December 30 at 11:00 AM by M. D. Touhid Hossain, Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Bangladesh Interim Government. In the evening closing session, Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. M. Sakhawat Hossain, Adviser to the Ministry of Shipping and the Ministry of Labour and Employment, attended as the chief guest.
Both advisers highlighted the vital role of expatriate Bangladeshis in the country’s development and progress and assured full government support. They noted that active participation of overseas Bangladeshis strengthens bilateral relations and significantly enhances the country’s global standing.
Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur also attended the convention, discussing the impact of expatriates on the nation’s economic development and exploring investment opportunities.
Representatives from key international trade chambers, including the America-Bangladesh Chamber, Canada-Bangladesh Chamber, British-Bangladesh Chamber, UK-BSCIC, as well as business councils from Dhaka and Dubai, Singapore, Japan, Korea, and Australia, took part in the convention.
