Congratulating Walton on receiving top corporate honors from various professional bodies, Dr. Md. He noted Walton’s outstanding contribution to Bangladesh’s economy, highlighting that the company has not only reduced import dependence by breaking the dominance of foreign brands, but is also earning significant foreign currency through exports to many countries worldwide. Expressing optimism, he said Walton’s IoT- and AI-based high-tech product manufacturing and exports would further strengthen its position in international markets.

ICB Chairman Professor Abu Ahmed described Walton’s factories as highly organized with extensive operational capacity. He recalled that foreign brands dominated Bangladesh’s electronics market just 15 years ago, a scenario Walton has completely transformed. By successfully competing with global brands, Walton has established market leadership and continues to expand capacity through increased investment. He said Walton stands as a bright example of Bangladesh’s capability in high-tech manufacturing and economic advancement.

He further added that Walton is among the strongest fundamentally sound companies in the capital market, consistently safeguarding public interest while providing satisfactory dividends to investors. He urged the government to extend policy and tax support to companies like Walton to further expand and enrich Bangladesh’s economic activities.

Speaking at the event, Walton Managing Director S. M. Mahbubul Alam said the company strictly follows full compliance across factory setup, production processes, workplace practices, financial reporting and corporate governance. He stated that Walton is one of South Asia’s leading companies in transparency, accountability and compliance, a distinction reflected in its receipt of the SAFA Gold Award.

He also noted that Walton’s Mould and Die Factory Complex has achieved LEED Platinum certification for being an environmentally friendly facility, awarded by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) for sustainable development, efficient use of electricity, energy and water, and eco-friendly operations. In recognition of its ESG contributions to Bangladesh’s economy, Walton has also received the Excellence in Investment Award 2025, along with the SDG Brand Champion Award 2025 for its sustainable clean energy initiatives.

Additionally, he revealed that Walton has installed Bangladesh’s largest floating solar power generation project at its factory and is establishing the country’s first lithium-ion battery manufacturing plant, equipped with green-technology machinery. Once operational, the plant is expected to significantly reduce Bangladesh’s reliance on imported lithium-ion batteries.

In his concluding remarks, Walton Hi-Tech Vice-Chairman S. M. Ashraful Alam said Walton never compromises on compliance, whether in workplace practices, production, financial reporting or tax payments. He noted that Walton’s consistent adherence to compliance has earned it regular recognition from institutions such as ICAB, ICSB and ICMAB, making these awards a source of immense pride for the company.
