BCOLBD 2025 Celebrates Bangladesh’s Global Success in Blockchain and AI
Blockchain & AI Olympiad Bangladesh (BCOLBD) 2025 Prize Giving Ceremony Teams Achieve Global Success at IBCOL & IDSOL 2025 in Hong Kong.
The 6th edition of the Blockchain & AI Olympiad Bangladesh (BCOLBD) 2025 successfully celebrated the achievements of young innovators who excelled at international competitions, including the International Blockchain Olympiad (IBCOL) and the International Data Science Olympiad (IDSOL) in Hong Kong. The event began with a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Md. Kaykobad, Convener of BCOLBD & Distinguished Professor, BRAC University, highlighting how the Olympiad has fostered enthusiasm and innovation among young participants. Chief Guest Mr. Shish Haider Chowdhury, ndc, MCIPS (CS), Secretary, ICT Division, Government of Bangladesh, commended BCOLBD for its achievements and emphasized continued cooperation from the ICT Division in promoting emerging technologies. Special guests included Professor Alan Edelman, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA, who expressed his honor in being associated with the Olympiad since its inception; Professor Syed Ferhat Anwar, Vice Chancellor, BRAC University, who emphasized the role of Blockchain and AI in emerging technologies; and Mr. Paul Frost, Commercial Counselor, U.S Embassy, Dhaka, who expressed admiration for the excellence and organization of the Olympiad. The ceremony concluded with concluding remarks by Mr. Habibullah N Karim, Coordinator of BCOLBD & Founder and CEO of Technohaven Company Limited, who highlighted the successful organization of BCOLBD’s 6th edition and its growing impact on technology innovation in Bangladesh.
The event ended with the Chief Guest handing over prize cheques to the winners, celebrating their outstanding achievements in Blockchain and AI innovation. Blockchain & AI Olympiad Bangladesh (BCOLBD) proudly announces the remarkable achievements of Bangladeshi teams at the International Blockchain Olympiad (IBCOL) and International Distributed Solutions Olympiad (IDSOL) 2025, held in Hong Kong from 29 to 31 October 2025. This year, 22 teams from Bangladesh nominated through BCOLBD competed against a large pool of participants from around the world and brought home prestigious awards. Since its founding in 2020 under the visionary guidance of the late Professor Jamilur Reza Choudhury, BCOLBD has served as the national gateway for Bangladeshi innovators to enter global Blockchain competitions. Led by Dr. Md. Kaykobad (Convener) and Mr. Habibullah N Karim (Coordinator).

Bangladesh Representation at IBCOL & IDSOL 2025 Bangladesh made a strong impression at IBCOL & IDSOL 2025, with 7 teams nominated through BCOLBD competing among 71 finalist teams from 33 countries. With 290 international participants presenting innovative solutions across multiple tracks, Bangladesh’s representation highlighted the nation’s growing Blockchain and Distributed Systems ecosystem and the increasing interest of students and young innovators in emerging technologies. Their remarkable performance reflects both creativity and technical excellence on a global stage.
