JUST Suspends Classes During State Mourning
All classes and examinations at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) have been suspended on Saturday, December 20, following the government’s declaration of state mourning. However, all university offices will remain open.
The decision was taken at an emergency online meeting held on Friday, December 19, at 4:00 pm, attended by all deans and department chairpersons.
Sharif Osman Hadi, a fearless frontline fighter of the July mass uprising and the convener of Inqilab Mancha, passed away on Thursday, December 18, while undergoing treatment in Singapore after being shot. In response to his death, the government has declared Saturday a day of state mourning.
Accordingly, JUST will observe the state mourning on campus, leading to the suspension of academic activities for the day.
