Bangladesh Bank’s digitalisation initiative has taken a significant step forward as Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur officially inaugurated the “E-Desk System” on Tuesday, 9 December. The new platform is designed to modernise and accelerate the central bank’s noting and official documentation processes by bringing them fully online.

All deputy governors, executive directors, and relevant departmental directors attended the inauguration ceremony. The E-Desk System was jointly developed and implemented by Bangladesh Bank’s HRD-1 and ICT departments.

Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur stated that with the launch of E-Desk, Bangladesh Bank has entered a new era of administrative operations. He thanked the officials involved in creating and implementing the system and provided directives to ensure faster and more accurate service delivery.

Initially, the E-Desk System has been launched only at the central headquarters; however, it will gradually be rolled out to all offices across the country.

Starting 10 December, all eligible departmental notings up to the director level must be processed through the E-Desk. In the next phase, beginning 1 January 2026, notings at all levels will come under the same system.

According to Bangladesh Bank officials, the introduction of the E-Desk System will make the noting process more transparent, faster, secure, and paperless—accelerating the central bank’s digital transformation journey.
