A total of 1,056,054 students applied online for admission to classes one through nine in government and non-government secondary schools between 21 November and the afternoon of 5 December. The digital lottery for student admissions will be held on 11 December. The event will take place at 10:00 AM at the International Mother Language Institute in Segunbagicha, Dhaka, while results will be available online immediately.

After the completion of the digital lottery process, school heads, parents, and students will be able to view results online. Results can be downloaded by accessing the link provided by the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) and logging in with the designated ID and password. Additionally, the DSHE Facebook page will livestream the entire lottery process.

The information was revealed in a letter issued by DSHE on Tuesday, 9 December. The letter states that for the 2026 academic year, student admissions from class one to class nine in government and non-government secondary schools (including metropolitan, district, and upazila-level institutions) will be conducted solely through a digital lottery.

Following the lottery, results can be downloaded from the designated website. Upon receiving the downloaded results, school heads must email them to the respective district and upazila admission committee chairpersons and notify the DSHE. For selected students, admission committees will convene meetings and complete the admission formalities following the prescribed procedures.
