Tech Leaders Outline Bangladesh’s Digital Future at “Bangladesh Tech Connect 2025” Summit
The panel discussion titled “Bangladesh Tech Connect 2025” was held on Wednesday, 26 November, at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka. Starting in the afternoon, the four-hour event featured multiple presentations by sector experts, who discussed the transformative impact of various digital technologies—such as AI, 5G, Cloud, IoT, and FinTech—on administration, business, and everyday life.
The event was organized with the theme “Building a Prosperous, Innovative, and Inclusive Bangladesh through ICT Excellence.” Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb joined virtually as the chief guest.
He stated, “Bangladesh has already embarked on its digital transformation journey. Recently, we have reaffirmed its direction and stages more clearly. Our progress is already visible. With support from stakeholders, we aim to further empower people through digital services.”
Government policymakers, industry leaders, regulators, development partners, representatives of educational institutions, and innovators from various sectors took part in discussions on Bangladesh’s digital transformation journey.
More than 3 hundred stakeholders from government agencies, mobile operators, ICT firms, fin-tech companies, corporations, and universities participated.
The event opened with a welcome speech by Shish Haydar Chowdhury, Secretary of the ICT Division. Several initiatives of the ICT Division were presented during the program.
Md. Mamunur Rashid Bhuiyan, Additional Secretary of the ICT Division, highlighted the organization’s strategic initiatives. Julian Gorman, Head of GSMA Asia Pacific, delivered a talk titled “Bridging the Digital Divide: Asia Pacific Insights.”
In addition, Md. Abu Sayeed, Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), along with representatives from a2i and the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), delivered a session on “Empowering Enterprises Through Digital Transformation.”
A panel discussion on Industry Digitization was then held, moderated by Shish Haydar Chowdhury. Senior officials from BTRC, Bangladesh Bank, mobile network operators, banks, universities, and Huawei discussed effective use and transformation of digital infrastructure across industries.

Abul Hasib Chowdhury, Pro-Vice Chancellor, BUET; Brigadier General Saiful Alam Parvez, DG, E&O Division, BTRC; Suparna Roy, Digital Specialist, World Bank; Dr. Mohammad Taiabbur Rahman, NCSA; Taimur Rahman, Chief Regulatory Affairs Officer, Banglalink; Jason Wu, CEO, Huawei Technologies Bangladesh Ltd; Nurul Mabud Chowdhury, Managing Director, Teletalk Bangladesh; Tanvir Mohammad, CCA, Grameenphone and Ziad Sattar, Managing Director, Robi Axiata.
The “Bangladesh Tech Connect 2025” event was jointly organized by the ICT Division and Huawei.
