Scouts, Skills, and Smart Bangladesh

Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, said, “The government’s goal is to transform the young generation into skilled human resources through knowledge of information technology. The ICT Scout Jamboree is not only strengthening the Scout movement but also creating opportunities for youth to play an important role in transforming the nation into a Smart Bangladesh.”
He further stated that to build a workforce proficient in artificial intelligence, the ICT Division will arrange nationwide training programs on AI and ICT skills development. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of Scouts cultivating ethics, leadership, and a spirit of service.
Addressing the youth, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb remarked that through knowledge, innovation, experience-sharing, and leadership development, Scouts will become key ambassadors of a future “Smart Bangladesh.” He described the integration of information technology with the Scout movement as a unique initiative to build the younger generation into more skilled, dynamic, and globally competent citizens.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at the 3rd National ICT Scout Jamboree, held on 20 September at the National Scout Training Center in Mouchak, Sreepur, Gazipur.
The three-day jamboree, organized from 19–21 September, was themed “Let Technology Serve Humanity.” Through training, workshops, and innovative exhibitions, the program aimed to enhance the technological skills of Scouts.
During the event, the Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser also visited the Museum Bus of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The program was attended by Camp Chief Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdha, Ad-hoc Committee Member Abu Saleh Md. Mohiuddin Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Sohel Rana, senior officials of the Scout movement, trainers, ICT sector experts, and hundreds of Scouts and volunteers from across the country.
