Fox Forces Flight to Freeze on Chattogram Runway
A fox on the runway delayed a Dhaka-bound US-Bangla Airlines flight at Chattogram’s Shah Amanat International Airport for nearly 26 minutes.
Airport Public Relations Officer Engineer Md. Ibrahim Khalil said that flight US-106 was preparing for takeoff at 11:40 am on Wednesday, 10 November, when a fox suddenly ran onto the runway. The inspection team quickly rushed in with a vehicle and chased the animal away.
Once the runway was cleared, the flight departed for Dhaka at 12:06 pm, he added.
Ibrahim Khalil further said that the runway is inspected before every takeoff and landing. However, due to dense vegetation, bushes, and jungles beside the runway, wild foxes, snakes, or dogs occasionally stray in. In such cases, the animals are driven out immediately to ensure runway safety.
