Acting Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has stated that diploma engineers have been playing a vital role in Bangladesh’s development journey. From infrastructure and industry to various other sectors, their service and technical expertise have significantly contributed to shaping the foundation of the country’s modern economy.

He noted that as a prominent professional organization, the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) has been nurturing this skilled workforce, promoting technical education, and encouraging innovation for sustainable growth.

Dr. Yunus made these remarks in a message issued on Friday (7 November) on the occasion of “Public Engineering Day and the Anniversary of IDEB” observed on 8 November.

“I extend my greetings and congratulations to all members of the organization on the occasion of Public Engineering Day 2025 and the 55th founding anniversary of the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB),” he said.

IDEB observes Public Engineering Day every year on 8 November. The theme of this year’s day is “Skilled Human Resources—the Cornerstone of Nation Building.”

Terming the theme highly timely, the Chief Adviser stated, “The true strength of a nation lies not only in its natural resources, but also in the knowledge, skills, and creativity of its people.”

Dr. Yunus further said that with continued commitment, professionalism, and a spirit of innovation, the members of IDEB will remain at the forefront of national development efforts. He expressed confidence that they would contribute effectively to inclusive growth and the realization of the country’s national aspirations.

He conveyed his best wishes for the overall success of all programs undertaken to mark “Public Engineering Day and IDEB’s Anniversary.”
