Citizen Service Expansion: Three New Centres Open in Dhaka
Three new Citizen Service Centres have begun operations in Dhaka — at Gulistan, Banasree, and Mohammadpur — bringing government services closer to citizens. According to the ICT Division, the centres officially started functioning on Wednesday, 22 October.
The Gulistan centre has been set up at the BTCL building in the Ramna Telephone Exchange, managed by entrepreneur Md Zahid Hasan. The Banasree centre is located at the BTCL building on Road No. 2, Block D, of the Rampura Banasree Residential Area, operated by entrepreneur Morsheda Mukta.
Earlier, in the first phase, three similar centres were launched in Gulshan, Uttara, and Nilkhet. The Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology has urged citizens to visit their nearest centres to avail of services and share their experiences.
“The valuable feedback from citizens will help improve the quality of services at the Citizen Service Centres and guide future initiatives,” the ministry noted.
Currently, the centres provide over 400 government services, including those related to passports, driving licences, birth and death registration, and national identity (NID) cards, as well as services from various government offices, upazila parishads, and zila parishads.
