CUET Students Chart New Course to Norway Through CARE Project
Eight students from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) are set to travel to Norway under varying durations of academic engagement as part of the ongoing CARE project jointly conducted by CUET and the University of Agder, Norway.
The selected students include Safwan Kamal, Pramit Ghosh, Rifat Shahriar, Mehedi Hasan Sabbi, and Bandhan Saha Bijoy from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Jayanta Das Joy from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Additionally, Aditya Ranjan Chowdhury and Papri Moitree from the Institute of Energy Technology are also among the recipients.
On Sunday, August 3, a discussion session was held at the CUET Syndicate Hall with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Muttin Bhuiyan, to congratulate and counsel the scholarship recipients.
Also present were Professor Dr. Kazi Afzalur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering; Professor Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Acting Registrar; Professor Dr. Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem, Head of the Department of Petroleum and Mining Engineering and Project Director of CARE; Professor Dr. Prosenjit Das, Head of the Department of Mechatronics and Industrial Engineering; and Professor Dr. Md. Mahbubul Alam, Director of Student Welfare.
Wishing the students continued success, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Muttin Bhuiyan said, “We are proud that CUET students have earned the opportunity to pursue higher education in an advanced country like Norway. This achievement reflects their talent, hard work, and the high-quality education provided by CUET. We hope they will uphold the reputation of both the university and the nation abroad and contribute meaningfully to the country's development in the future.”
To date, a total of 26 students have secured opportunities to pursue higher education in Norway under the CARE project. In this latest phase, five students will enroll in a five-month master's program, while three will undertake a two-year master's course.
