Chittagong Chaos: Chemical Factory Conflagration in EPZ
A devastating fire broke out on two floors of a medical equipment manufacturing company located in the Chittagong Export Processing Zone (CEPZ).
The incident occurred on Thursday, 16 October, at around 2:00 pm at ‘Adams Cap and Textile Limited’ on 5th Road, Sector 1 of CEPZ.
Talha Bin Jasim, Media Officer of the Fire Service Headquarters, told Dhaka Post, “The fire has engulfed the 5th, 6th, and 7th floors of the seven-story building. So far, 16 units are working to control the blaze.”
CEPZ Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Jamir Hossain Zia informed the media, “The fire initially started on the 7th floor of the eight-story medical equipment manufacturing facility and subsequently spread to the 6th floor.”
