OpenAI Acquires AI Investment App Roi After Surpassing SpaceX in Valuation

Just a day after overtaking SpaceX as the world’s most valuable private company, OpenAI has announced another major acquisition—this time of Roi, an AI-powered investment app that allows users to manage their financial portfolios in one place and receive personalized investment advice, reports Engadget.
The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. However, according to TechCrunch, Sujith Viswajith, Roi’s co-founder and CEO, will be the only member joining the OpenAI team following the acquisition.
Analysts suggest that this move signals OpenAI’s entry into the personal financial advisory sector. The company is reportedly aiming to develop a “proactive assistant”—an AI tool capable not only of answering questions but also of offering investment advice tailored to individual users’ financial needs.
Earlier this year, in May, OpenAI acquired I/O, an AI hardware startup co-founded by former Apple designer Jony Ive, for $6.5 billion, followed by the $1.1 billion acquisition of Statsig, a product-testing startup, in September.
