Tahsan Turns Tune at Vivo V60 5G Launch

Barely two weeks after announcing that he would no longer sing, popular singer and actor Tahsan Khan returned to the stage on October 4, performing live at the launch of the Vivo V60 5G smartphone.
Sitting at the left corner of the stage with a piano, Vivo’s brand ambassador opened the evening with “Bindu Ami”. As soon as he began playing, content creators in the audience set their phones to record — some even went live on social media.
Moving to center stage, Tahsan asked the audience which song they wanted to hear next. He then performed “Shey Tumi”, followed by his favorite “Megher Pore Alor Bhire”, and finally “Tumi Ar To Karo Noy (Alo)”. The mesmerized crowd joined in chorus as the rhythm of bass guitars merged with waves of applause.
When asked about his earlier statement of quitting music, Tahsan clarified that his decision was driven by love from his fans. “By saying I won’t sing, I meant I won’t sing the way I used to. When I left my job at Unilever to release my first album, I received immense love from listeners — and I want to live with that love till the end. I won’t create new songs, but I’ll complete my existing commitments,” he explained.
Following the performance, Ronan Li, Vivo’s Product Director, presented the new smartphone with the tagline “Travel Portrait So Pro.” He said, “This is not just a communication device — this phone is your companion for every need.”
Hamim Asgar, Deputy Retail Manager, highlighted the phone’s 50-megapixel camera, AI-powered seasonal features, and Aura Light for enhanced low-light photography. He noted that the MediaTek processor used in the device is “60 times more powerful than before” and comes with 12GB of RAM.
The grand launch event, held at the Raj Darshan Hall of the Bashundhara International Convention Center in Dhaka, featured a photo exhibition showcasing images captured on Vivo phones, along with booths offering installment purchase options and an AI Studio experience.
In the closing segment, Tahsan and Mr. David Li, Vivo Bangladesh’s Country Director, presented awards to winners of the “Vivo: The Moment Photography Contest.” David Li also announced the prices — the V60 Lite 5G at Tk 34,999 and the V60 5G at Tk 43,999.
