Renault Restructures: French Carmaker Plans 15% Staff Cut in Support Divisions

French automaker Renault is planning to lay off about 15 percent of employees in its support divisions—equivalent to roughly 3,000 jobs—according to the French newsletter L’Informé, reports Reuters.

The layoffs will mainly affect the company’s human resources, finance, and marketing departments, as part of a cost-cutting initiative named “Arrow.” Under this program, Renault aims to reduce its workforce across various locations, including its headquarters in Boulogne-Billancourt, Paris. The final decision is expected to be made by the end of this year.

Renault stated that it is “exploring ways to simplify operations and reduce permanent costs,” but added that “no final decision has yet been made.” By the end of 2024, the company employed 98,636 people worldwide.

In July this year, Renault reported a loss of 11.2 billion euros (approximately 13 billion dollars), of which 9.3 billion euros was attributed to its Japanese partner Nissan.
