Google Grows Opal’s Outreach with AI App Expansion
Google has expanded its AI-powered Opal app to 15 additional countries, allowing users to create mini web applications simply by providing text prompts. According to a report by TechCrunch, the app will now be available in Canada, India, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Brazil, Singapore, Colombia, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras, Argentina, and Pakistan.
Megan Li, Senior Product Manager at Google Labs, said, “We initially assumed users would build fun, lightweight tools, but they have created many imaginative and practical applications.”
Using Opal, users can describe the function of an app in plain text, and Google’s models automatically generate it. They can then view and modify the inputs, outputs, and steps within a visual editor.
Google added that the new update simplifies debugging by allowing users to instantly identify errors. It has also reduced app generation time to under five seconds. In addition, the latest version supports multiple simultaneous steps, enabling faster execution of complex workflows.
