Friendship Day Features Film and Fusion: ‘Megher Kopat’ Debuts on Toffee
On the occasion of Friendship Day (August 3), digital operator Banglalink released the feature film Megher Kopat on its OTT platform Toffee. Written and directed by Walid Ahmed, the film features a cast that includes Rakib Hossain Emon, Cindy Rolling, Sabrina Tanvy, Afroza Momen, Rehana Parvin Hashi, Zaman Saif, Raju Ahsan, and tech journalist-turned-actor Rezaur Rahman Rizvi.
Set against the scenic backdrop of Sreemangal, the screenplay for the film was penned by Afroza Momen, while all five songs featured in the film were written by the director himself.
Megher Kopat has already garnered multiple international awards and acclaim. It was originally released in theaters across Bangladesh on November 3, 2023, and ran for four consecutive weeks at Dhaka’s Jamuna Blockbuster Cinema Hall. The film was later screened in India under the South Asian Free Trade Area (SAFTA) agreement.
Speaking about the film, Rezaur Rahman Rizvi stated, “I played the role of the boss of the protagonist, portrayed by Rakib Hossain Emon. The film, directed by Walid Ahmed, was released on November 3, 2023.”
Earlier, on August 1, singer Dilruba Kamal released a special Nazrul Geeti album titled Pordeshi Megh. The three-song album, featuring the tracks Pordeshi Megh, Keu Bhole Na, and Rimijhim, is available on Sadamata Entertainment’s YouTube channel and all major international audio streaming platforms. The music was arranged by noted music director Sajib Das.
