NBR Makes Online CLP Submission Mandatory Under Single Window from July 1

From July 1 (Tuesday), marking the beginning of the new fiscal year, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has mandated the online submission of Certificates, Licenses, and Permits (CLPs) issued by 19 regulatory agencies for the customs clearance of import and export consignments under the Single Window System.

According to NBR, “85.97 percent of CLPs are issued within less than one hour, and 94.63 percent within a single day through an automated process.” The decision to require digital submission of CLPs issued by 19 agencies has already been finalized.

Effective July 1, CLPs from 16 of these agencies must be submitted through the system for customs clearance of all import and export consignments. For support, businesses may contact hotline 16139 or visit the designated website.

As of June 30, the total number of CLPs automatically issued via the Single Window System has exceeded 389,015, the NBR stated.

In a press release on June 30 (Monday), NBR’s Public Relations Officer Al Amin Sheikh said, “The Bangladesh Single Window System is an online platform through which importers and exporters can apply for and receive their required CLPs.” To access the system, users must first register using a Business Identification Number (BIN). Through this platform, all procedures related to CLPs for traded goods are simultaneously handled online by the respective regulatory authorities.

NBR expressed optimism that this digital process will “ensure transparency and accountability by removing the need for personal contact in official procedures, reduce time and cost in import-export operations, and boost investor and trader confidence—both domestic and international—thus enhancing trade and investment prospects.”
