National University Admission Results Announced Amid Server Struggles

The results of the 2024–2025 first-year undergraduate (honours) admission test under the National University of Bangladesh were officially announced and made available via the university’s admission website and mobile SMS hotline. The announcement was made by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Amanullah during a press conference held at the university’s ICT building on Thursday, June 26.
Shortly after the announcement, many applicants reported significant difficulty accessing the admission results through the official website, encountering the message: “This site can’t be reached.” As a result, most students and their guardians have been unable to log in using their PIN and password to view the results.
Similarly, those attempting to access the results via mobile SMS—by sending “NUAT [Roll Number]” to 16222—have experienced long delays in receiving the reply messages.
During the press conference, it was disclosed that a total of 560,595 candidates appeared in the admission test for the 2024–2025 academic year, out of which 460,706 students passed. Among the successful candidates, 33.28 percent scored above 50 marks, while 66.72 percent scored below 50.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that the National University has 440,000 available seats. Students who do not qualify for honours programs may seek admission into pass courses, technical programs, or other academic streams.
He added, “Previously, students were admitted into honours programs without an entrance examination, leading some to claim that National University students were enrolled without proving merit. From now on, no one can say that students at the National University are admitted without an entry test.” He further mentioned that this is the first admission examination being held in a decade.
The press conference was attended by the university's pro-vice-chancellor, treasurer, registrar, deans of various faculties, and senior officials.
