Snap Inc., the parent company of Snapchat, has recently acquired Saturn, a popular calendar app widely used by school and college students. While Snap confirmed the acquisition to TechCrunch on Friday, the financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

According to reports, Saturn will continue to operate as a standalone application, with nearly 30 of its employees joining Snap. Founded in 2018, the app facilitates social connection among students by allowing them to share their schedules for classes, practices, rehearsals, or sports in real time.

Snap stated that Saturn is currently used in 80% of U.S. high schools. Through this acquisition, the company plans to introduce new calendar-based features to its platform, aiming to enhance real-world social interactions among users.
