Conve Connects Continents: Bangladeshi App Powers G20 SIDSSA 2025 Live

On May 26–27, the Centurion International Convention Centre in South Africa hosted the G20 Sustainable Infrastructure Development Symposium Africa (SIDSSA) 2025, a major global gathering focused on infrastructure and inclusive growth. Attended by ministers, diplomats, policymakers, and private sector representatives from 27 countries, the event underscored the urgency of sustainable development strategies.

In a landmark achievement, the symposium’s live streaming was powered by Conve, a video conferencing application developed by young engineers from Bangladesh. With this debut, Bangladesh has placed its name alongside global tech giants such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. This not only marks a milestone for the country but also affirms the world-class capabilities of its homegrown technological innovation.

Developed by Synesis IT, one of Bangladesh’s leading tech firms, Conve has proven its strength as a comprehensive, secure, and scalable office collaboration solution. The app handled the livestream of speeches, presentations, and multilingual discussions with high efficiency.

The two-day event was inaugurated by South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa. According to sources, Conve played a vital technical role throughout the sessions. Software engineer Al Amru Bil Maruf, one of the developers behind Conve, remarked, “Very few platforms possess the streaming capabilities that Conve offers. It is not only suited for Bangladesh but has the potential to serve globally. It is capable of competing with Zoom and Google Meet. Conve is now in Africa, America, and Australia—but all its developers are from Bangladesh.”

ASM Nurun Nabi, Chief Business Officer of Synesis IT, added, “Conve made global participation more inclusive and accessible by transcribing the SIDSSA event in real-time across five languages—English, Bangla, French, Portuguese, and Spanish.”

The G20 SIDSSA 2025 saw active participation from major G20 nations including China, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Brazil, and Indonesia. Delegates shared experiences on utilizing infrastructure as a tool for national development. Key discussions also included updates on infrastructure fund pipelines, progress on strategic projects, and the announcement of the Top 12 infrastructure priorities.

The successful deployment of Conve at such a high-profile international event marks a new chapter for Bangladesh’s tech industry, exemplifying the nation's growing footprint in global digital innovation.
