Apple Adds Satellite SOS to iPhone 13 with iOS 18.5 Update

Apple has introduced satellite-based emergency services to iPhone 13 users for the first time through the newly released iOS 18.5 update. Previously, this life-saving feature was limited to the iPhone 14 and newer models. The update was rolled out on Monday, according to a report by TechCrunch.
The feature enables users to request emergency assistance via satellite when there is no mobile network or Wi-Fi coverage. Through this system, users can send emergency texts, share their location, or ask for roadside help.
The update also includes support for satellite service providers such as T-Mobile and Starlink. In addition, Apple has introduced a range of new features including enhanced alerts in Screen Time, a new "All Mail" tab in the Mail app, a redesigned Pride wallpaper, and simplified subscription management in the Apple TV app.
Apple simultaneously released iPadOS 18.5, visionOS 2.5, watchOS 11.5, and a security update for macOS, expanding improvements across its ecosystem.
