Chattogram City Collaborates for Digital Civic Services

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) has signed an agreement with tech company Geonex to bring its civic services online under the ‘Shapla OSS’ project. The initiative, fully funded and powered by Geonex’s own technology, aims to streamline access to essential services such as birth and death registration, citizen certificates, holding tax, and trade licenses, making payments and documentation easier for city residents.
Geonex stated that the same technology is already in use in several cities across countries including Dubai and Ajman.
Speaking on the occasion, CCC Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain said, “‘Shapla OSS’ will save both time and money for the public. It will help restore trust in government services. From birth registration to trade licenses, from bill payments to citizen certificates—everything will now be available at your fingertips.”
Geonex CEO Sakhawat Zisan remarked, “Although this begins in Chattogram, we plan to expand it across the country. This is how the culture of accessing government services will change. This is how Bangladesh will transform.”
The contract signing ceremony was attended by CCC Secretary Ashraful Amin, Geonex CTO Umar Mars, along with senior officials from both CCC and Geonex.
