One of Twitter’s most iconic symbols, the “Larry” logo, has been sold at an auction for $34,375. The large bird emblem, which was displayed on the exterior of Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters, was removed following the company’s rebranding. Engadget first reported the sale.

Auction house RR Auction had estimated that the logo could fetch up to $40,000. While it sold for slightly less, it remains a significant artifact in the history of social media.

Measuring 12 feet in length and 8 feet in width, the 560-pound emblem was one of two massive bird symbols once adorning Twitter’s headquarters. The identity of the winning bidder has not been disclosed, but they will be responsible for covering the costs of transporting the logo from a San Francisco storage facility.

This was not the first time Twitter memorabilia went up for auction. Following Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter in 2022, the company auctioned off various office assets in 2023. At the time, another large Twitter logo was sold for an undisclosed amount, while a smaller version of the emblem was auctioned for $100,000.
