Software giant Microsoft has unveiled a new artificial intelligence (AI) model designed to enhance the visuals and performance of video games, the company announced on Wednesday, according to Reuters.

The model, named "Muse", was developed in collaboration with Ninja Theory, a game developer under Microsoft’s Xbox Game Studios.

With rising development costs in the gaming industry, Microsoft is turning to AI to streamline game creation. The company is responding to a market shift where economic uncertainty is driving gamers to stick with tried-and-true titles rather than investing in new games, leading to lower sales for fresh releases.

Fatima Kardar, Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President, stated, "We are already using Muse to train a real-time AI model on other first-party games, and we believe it has the potential to play a significant role for both gamers and developers in the future."
