Lufthansa to Cut 4,000 Jobs by 2030 Amid Push for Higher Profitability
Lufthansa Leans on Layoffs to Lift Long-Term Targets
German airline Lufthansa will cut 4,000 administrative jobs by 2030, the company announced on Monday. The reduction will be achieved through digitalization, automation, and process integration, according to a report from Reuters.
On the same day, the airline also set new medium-term goals for 2028 and 2030.
Lufthansa stated that it aims to raise its adjusted earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) margin to between 8 and 10 percent. In addition, the company expects to generate annual free cash flow of more than €2.5 billion.
