Tech-giants want incentives to make chips in the United States
American technology companies are suffering from the chips crisis. This time they have united to increase production in the country. At the same time, the companies have demanded government financial support or incentives. News Engadget.
The United States recently passed the Chips for America Act to reduce chip imports. It is mentioned that a 40 percent refundable investment tax credit will be given to the companies manufacturing semiconductor parts or semiconductors. However, the necessary funds have not yet been created.
Companies such as technology brands including Amazon, Apple, Google and Microsoft, AT&T, operators like Verizon and members of the Semiconductor Industry Association such as HMD, Intel, Qualcomm, Samsung have tied up 'Semiconductors for America' to receive the funds.
The alliance is working to keep the supply of chipsets normal and to make technology available when needed. They have already written letters to White House and Senate leaders urging them to expedite the funding process.
