Algerian Ambassador called on the Telecom Minister

Rabah Larbi, Ambassador of Algeria to Dhaka, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Mostafa Jabbar. The meeting was held on Wednesday (July 20) at the Secretariat of the Post and Telecommunication Minister's office. During the meeting, they shed light on various issues related to mutual interest, especially the issues related to mutual cooperation in the telecommunication sector. Highlighting the excellent relations between the two friendly countries of Bangladesh and Algeria, Mostafa Jabbar said that Bangladesh has reached the milestone of achieving expected progress in the development of the telecommunication sector. He said, the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman opened the golden door of Bangladesh's relations in the field of global telecommunication by gaining membership of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in 1973. As a result of this, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's 18-and-a-half-year rule has brought incredible success in the telecommunications sector, including the Internet, as well as in the digital technology sector. Highlighting the various programs undertaken including 5G technology to develop digital technology, he said that Bangladesh is a very profitable country for investment as a result of the government's investment-friendly policy. He mentioned that the digital technology sector is a very important sector to utilize this investment opportunity. The minister expressed hope that the existing relations between Bangladesh and Algeria will be stronger in the coming days. While praising the progress of Bangladesh in various sectors including telecommunication, the ambassador expressed hope that both countries will benefit from the progress of this sector through mutual exchange of experience in the telecommunication sector between the two countries.
