Bangladesh Achieves Two WorldSkills Successes
- Bangladesh ranked 10th in Computer Software Testing
- The country ranked 15th in Mobile Applications Development
- Mashfi Rezwan Saikat received the Best of Nation recognition
Bangladesh achieved notable results in two technology-focused skills at the 48th WorldSkills Competition, WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, held in Shanghai, China. Bangladesh ranked 10th in Computer Software Testing and 15th in Mobile Applications Development.
Around 1,400 competitors from 68 countries participated in 64 skills at this year’s competition, source informed on September 28, 2026.
At the WorldSkills International General Assembly, Best of Nation competitors are initially selected through the respective delegation heads based on the performance of competitors from each country. The selected competitors are subsequently considered for final Best of Nation recognition through voting by member countries at the General Assembly.
Under this process, Bangladesh competitor Mashfi Rezwan Saikat was finally selected for Best of Nation recognition. Saikat, who competed in Computer Software Testing, was formally presented with the Best of Nation recognition at the closing ceremony of WorldSkills Shanghai 2026.
A five-member Bangladesh delegation, led by Dr. Nazneen Kawsar Chowdhury, Executive Chairman of the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) and Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh, attended the closing ceremony.
During WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, the Bangladesh delegation, led by the NSDA, also held meetings and discussions with international partners and skills development organizations. The discussions focused on Bangladesh’s skills development system, international cooperation, and strengthening Bangladesh’s participation in WorldSkills Japan 2028.
