Bilateral cooperation and cultural connectivity between Bangladesh and China will deepen significantly through collaborative initiatives in film, documentary production, digital content, and publications, stated Md. Ismail Zabiullah, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Public Administration. He was addressing as the chief guest at the concluding session of the 'Validation Workshop on Competency Standards and Curriculum for Chinese Language', hosted at the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) conference hall in Agargaon on Tuesday, 25 August 2026.
The Adviser emphasized that the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between both nations is rapidly expanding across trade, industrial technology, education, and human resource engineering.
He remarked, "The Chinese language is not merely a linguistic tool; it operates as a strategic bridge driving technology transfer, bilateral trade, and global employment. An inclusive digital framework must be institutionalized, allowing students and professionals from both urban centers and rural areas to access Chinese language training via online and technology-enabled platforms."
He added that in line with national educational priorities emphasized by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Chinese can serve as a vital option for introducing a third language in secondary education.
Speaking as the guest of honor, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen noted that high-capacity industrial hubs like the Chinese Economic Zone in Chittagong are generating employment avenues, where bilingual communication skills will streamline technical collaboration between domestic professionals and Chinese tech investors.
Presiding over the workshop, NSDA Executive Chairman and Secretary Dr. Nazneen Kawshar Chowdhury stated that developing market-aligned, competency-based curricula directly equips the workforce for modern international industrial demands.
The event was attended by Special Guests Advocate Nazmul Huq Nannu, President of Bangladesh-China Friendship Association, and Mirza Nurul Ghani Shovon, Chairman of Informal Sector Industry Skills Council, alongside technical consultants, academia, and industry delegates.
