Eleven-year-old brothers code three applications using mother's smartphone
Twin Prodigies Become Youngest Bdapps Software Developers
- Twin brothers Tanvir and Tafsir self-learn coding via YouTube, building three mobile apps
- Bdapps awards new laptop, full development scholarship, and AI tool training
- Aspiring software engineers aim to build AI-powered robotics for global institutions
Proving that resource constraints cannot hinder technological passion, 11-year-old twin brothers Tanvir Hasan and Tafsir Hasan have officially joined the national app ecosystem 'bdapps' as its youngest software developers.
Currently studying in the sixth grade in Shariatpur, the brothers spent three years mastering programming logic and app development through free online tutorials and YouTube. Lacking a personal computer, they coded entirely on their mother’s smartphone, successfully engineering three functional mobile applications. Following media coverage of their technical feats, bdapps invited the duo to Robi Axiata PLC’s corporate headquarters on Thursday, 13 August 2026, officially onboarding them after evaluating their projects and technical journey.
On Wednesday, 19 August 2026, a technical delegation from bdapps visited the twins' residence in Shariatpur to conduct an interactive workshop. Software engineers provided them with foundational guidance on advanced mobile development, coding best practices, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration frameworks. To empower their journey, bdapps gifted them a brand-new laptop alongside full scholarships for a comprehensive app development course.
The twins, who previously secured merit scholarships in primary school, aspire to become software engineers aiming to collaborate with global tech entities like Microsoft or NASA and engineer advanced AI-driven robots. Mohammad Shawkat Kader Chowdhury, Head of Marketing at Robi Axiata PLC, noted that providing proper technical mentorship to such young innovators is critical for shaping future technologies. The bdapps platform currently supports an ecosystem of over 100,000 developers and apps across the country.
