Nagad and Bengal Commercial Bank Partner to Boost Digital Transactions
Strategic agreement signed to streamline add-money, remittance flow, and NPSB services for a cashless economy
Nagad, the Postal Department's mobile financial service, has entered into a strategic partnership with Bengal Commercial Bank PLC to make digital financial transactions easier, faster, and more convenient for customers. The agreement was formally signed on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the bank's head office in Gulshan, Dhaka, according to relevant sources on August 24, 2026, Monday.
The agreement was signed by K. M. Awlad Hossain, Managing Director of Bengal Commercial Bank, and Md. Motasim Billah, Bangladesh Bank-appointed Administrator of Nagad.
Under this agreement, digital financial services including Nagad's Trust Cum Settlement Account, Add Money, remittance distribution, and National Payment Switch Bangladesh (NPSB) will become more accessible through Bengal Commercial Bank. This partnership will also ensure faster and easier remittance transfers to families in remote areas of the country.
Speaking at the event, Nagad Administrator Md. Motasim Billah emphasized that leveraging Nagad's vast network for services like nano-loans, EMIs, and DPS will accelerate the country's journey toward a cashless economy. K. M. Awlad Hossain, MD of Bengal Commercial Bank, noted that the initiative will enhance deposit and credit opportunities while fostering secure transactions.
High-ranking officials from both organizations attended the ceremony. Nagad continues to encourage legal remittance channels and currently supports payments across 1 million Bangla QR merchants nationwide, according to relevant sources on August 24, 2026, Monday.
