Daffodil University Delivers Digital Journalism Training to Chandpur Press Club

The Department of Journalism, Media and Communication of Daffodil International University organized a two-day training program on digital journalism for members of the Chandpur Press Club, held at the university’s media lab on August 2–3.

On Monday, August 3, the closing ceremony took place, where Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. M. R. Kabir attended as the chief guest and distributed certificates among the participants.

Speakers at the event included Rahim Badshah, President of Chandpur Press Club; Md. Kader Palash, General Secretary; Aftab Hossain, Head of the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication at DIU; Associate Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Kabil Khan; and Md. Anwar Habib Kajol, Senior Assistant Director of the university’s Public Relations Office.

A total of 30 members from the Chandpur Press Club took part in the training. The sessions covered core aspects of digital journalism such as: what digital journalism is, why it matters, and how it works; principles and settings for mobile video recording; camera framing techniques, shot types, conducting interviews, and capturing B-roll footage.

The training was formally inaugurated on August 2 by Professor Dr. Mostafa Kamal, Dean of Academic Affairs, and Professor Dr. Liza Sharmin, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
