The government has reaffirmed its stance on safeguarding public rights and health, pledging zero compromise in delivering accessible medical services. Speaking at a national summit, Minister for Women & Children Affairs and Social Welfare, Professor Dr. A Z M Zaid Hossain, MP, declared that ensuring free primary and emergency care, along with affordable specialized treatment, remains the administration's primary objective.

The Minister was addressing as the Chief Guest at the '2nd Dhaka International Knee Summit 2026', organized by the 'Bangladesh Arthroscopy & Arthroplasty Academy' in collaboration with the Dhaka Arthroplasty Society at Pan Pacific Sonargaon, Dhaka. Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Huq, MP, was present as a Special Guest.

Emphasizing technological adaptation, Dr. Zaid stated that combining professional expertise with modern medical knowledge is essential to overcome healthcare obstacles. He noted that in the era of super-specialization and Artificial Intelligence (AI), failing to adopt cutting-edge innovations would make managing the country's growing healthcare demands increasingly difficult.

Highlighting financial allocations, he stated that the government has demonstrated its priority for public health by granting the second-highest allocation in the national budget to the health sector—a historical precedent in Bangladesh. However, he stressed the necessity of efficient and transparent utilization of these allocated funds.

During the event, six specialist doctors were awarded fellowships by the Dhaka Arthroplasty Society, and a medical publication titled 'Save your knees' was officially unveiled. The summit was chaired by Dr. M. Ali, President of the Bangladesh Arthroplasty Society, with DAB General Secretary Dr. Md. Zohirul Islam Shakil and other prominent medical experts in attendance.
