Bangladesh Air Force Bolsters Defenses with GM 403-M Radar

The Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) has officially incorporated a new air defense radar, the GM 403-M, into its arsenal. The newly established radar installation in Bogura was inaugurated on Wednesday, June 18, by Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, Chief of Air Staff.

Senior military officials and other members of the armed forces were present at the inauguration ceremony.

According to a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR), the integration of new installations and combat equipment is part of the ongoing modernization and advancement efforts to make the Air Force contemporary and capable. The newly inaugurated air defense radar is a continuation of this strategic development.

The statement described the radar as “an important addition in realizing the commitment to ‘Keep the skies of Bengal free.’” It further expressed hope that the new system will significantly enhance the Air Force's air defense capabilities and technological strength.
