Two alumni from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) have achieved prestigious postdoctoral research positions at world-renowned Stanford University. The researchers, Md. Atiq Ahmed and Rabeya TUS Sadia, are former students from RUET’s Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) 2015-16 academic session. They are advancing global research in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and health-tech applications.

Both completed their B.Sc. degrees at RUET and earned their PhDs in Computer Science from the University of Kentucky. Md. Atiq Ahmed is currently a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford, specializing in Radiation Physics with research focusing on Deep Learning, Multimodal Learning, and real-world data-driven AI solutions. He previously interned at Google for nine months, and his work has been published in top-tier journals including Nature Communications, ICML, AAAI, and KDD.

Meanwhile, Rabeya TUS Sadia is serving as a postdoctoral scholar at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Her research centers on AI-driven medical imaging and surgical video analysis to assist surgeons and clinicians in real-time medical decision-making.

Reflecting on her milestone, Rabeya credited her strong educational foundation at RUET and encouraged current students to dream big, work consistently, and persevere through failures. The achievements of these two RUETians serve as a monumental testament to the global capabilities of Bangladeshi engineering graduates in frontier science.
